Prior to time-restricted feeding, human trials found that this food-time strategy reduced the swings in the pattern of hunger and substitute fat and carb burning, which can help reduce weight. In the initial time restricted food (ETRF), people do their last meal till mid-afternoon and do not eat again until breakfast in the next morning.

To conduct our study, Dr. Peterson and his colleagues followed eleven men and two o'clock (ETRF) in eleven days to eat eleven men and women, and four days of eating between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (average feeding for Americans). Researchers then tested the effect of calories burned, fat burning and ETRF on appetite. In order to eliminate the subjectivity, the researchers tried to eat both schedules to all participants, rigorously tested both under the same calorie intake, and under supervision. Accourding to research, although ETRF did not affect how many calorie participants burned, this reduced daily appetite and increased fat burning during several hours at night. It also improves metabolism flexibility, which has the ability to switch between burning carbs and fats in the body. Whether the eTRF helps in weight loss or improves other aspects of health is still unknown.

"These initial conclusions suggest that for the first time in humans, what we have seen in animal models - that the time of eating affects our metabolism during the day," said Dol Scholar, PhD spokeswoman of the motel society."With additional research on the restricted diet of early times on humans, we can make a more complete picture of whether this innovative method can help prevent and treat obesity."
